Later, as an adult human (played by Will Ferrell), Santa allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs (played by James Caan). Hobbs, on Santa's naughty list for being pretty heartless, had no idea that Buddy was even born. Buddy, meanwhile, experiences the delights of New York City (and human culture) as only an elf can. When Walter's relationship with Buddy interferes with his job, he is forced to re-evaluate his priorities.

PASSION FOR FASHION @ Eumundi Markets
More DetailsIf you’re after original fashion with funk and flair, then put Saturday 29 October in your diary for the PASSION FOR FASHION day at Eumundi Markets.
Renowned as a springboard for emerging designers, The Original Eumundi Markets hosts PASSION FOR FASHION each year to celebrate the unique designs of the many fashionistas within the market community.
Visitors will be able follow a special Passion for Fashion Trail on the day – a trail through the market that highlights more than 60 stalls with a fashion focus. The Passion for Fashion Trail will include men’s, women’s and children’s fashion, as well as handmade shoes, jewellery, hats and other accessories.
Another highlight of the morning will be parades of the new spring and summer collections from flagship fashion stalls. The designs will be paraded from 10am on the catwalk at Main Stage.
The market designer collections will be followed by fashion parades featuring original designs made by the fashion design students of Sunshine Coast TAFE.

THE FINAL COOK-OFF WEDNESDAY 7 SEPTEMBER
More DetailsExpect a serious showdown in the outdoor kitchen when the students of St Andrews Anglican College take on Maroochydore State High School (Team A) at 10am next Wednesday 7 September in the Market Chef Grand Final.
Launched this year, the MARKET CHEF competition has seen students from high schools across the Sunshine Coast battle it out in heats each Wednesday throughout Terms 2 and 3.
The weekly MARKET CHEF battles have been hosted by chef Peter Wolfe, renowned for his kitchen wizardry, and for his recipes incorporating bush foods and organic ingredients.
“The competition has really challenged the students each week, as they’ve only been told the name of the dish prior to each week’s cook-off – not the actual recipe,” Peter says. “They haven’t seen the ingredients nor recipe until they’ve arrived for the competition to cook”
“The same will apply in the grand final, however the finalists will not even know the name of the dish in advance,” he says. “It’ll all be a surprise until they arrive on the day”.
“As with all recipes cooked this year during Market Chef, the grand final recipe will incorporate fresh produce and ingredients from local growers and suppliers available at Eumundi Markets.
The winning team will take home the magnificent Market Chef trophy; a $500 market voucher (to be spent on the wealth of local produce and cooking ingredients available each week at Eumundi Markets), as well as a Market Chef cooking class at the winning school.
The schools that competed in MARKET CHEF 2011 have been Immanuel Lutheran College; Peregian Beach College; St Theresa’s Catholic College; Burnside State High School; Maroochydore State High School (two teams – A and B); Sunshine Beach High School and St Andrews Anglican College.
Recipes from MARKET CHEF each week are available at www.eumundimarkets.com.au
